Question:
What type of fiber helps lower the LDL (bad) cholesterol levels? What are good sources of this type of fiber?
Answer:
Consuming soluble fibers is a great way to naturally lower your LDL cholesterol levels. Soluble fibers also digest slowly therefore giving the sensation of being full for an extended period of time. Foods that are high in soluble fibers include: whole grains (oats are the grain that has the highest amount of soluble fiber), barley, prunes, pears, citrus fruits, legumes, seeds, and nuts.
